Build Your Future!

Build Your Future!

“We make our future by the best use of the present”

Let’s begin by considering a thought provoking question: Who in their right mind, would deliberately relinquish all of their talents, skills, expertise, knowledge and experience, so that, a corporation could, over time, potentially make millions of dollars from your efforts – because you gave away your power to them?

That is a shocking thought. The reality of course, is that every day, around the world, countless millions do just that! Why? Because they don’t know any better. They’ve being taught the old lie: Go to school, get good grades, work for a corporation, and you’re set for life!

What would you think, if you were an observer of anyone giving away their power? Would you by any chance think they were crazy?

It’s time that individuals began to think more for themselves, than to follow the crowd – the crowd isn’t always right!

You see, if you’re talents, skills, expertise, knowledge and experience can potentially make millions for a corporation – then why not turn all of that to your advantage?

“The future will be different if we make the present different”

From this day forward, you’re going to think differently. You’re going to think:You, Inc!!

You can use all those abilities that you possess, and channel them into a successful, and profitable home-based business – if you decide to.

The first step to take however, is to ask the question that we posed at the beginning of this article, the question of relinquishing power to the benefit of a corporation. You must use that question to create dissatisfaction in yourself!

What do we mean by that?

In essence, we mean that you’ve got to see that you’ve being short-changing yourself all these years you’ve been working for someone else!

Just imagine this: You’re at the end of your life, and a friend comes along and says to you: “Can I show you how you’re future would have turned out if you’d pursued that idea you’d toyed with year after year?” The friend then goes on to show you how you turned your idea(s) into a goldmine! You were able to help family and friends, your community, you took great vacations, everything was just the way you’d like it to be. True, you worked hard to achieve it. But the sense of fulfillment, satisfaction, and personal achievement were all worth the effort!

“The future is the time when folks will be wishing they’d done all the things they ain’t doin’ now!”

If having your own successful business is something you’ve often thought about, but have’nt taken action yet, when would now be a good time to start planning and working on those ideas?

I recall reading an article a few years ago, by Mark Yarnell. It was titled: The Next American Dream. In the article, Yarnell interviewed Juliet Schor, a Harvard Business School economist. She made some interesting observations about people and work.

In essence, the article was discussing corporate America, downsizing, the fact that people are having their workloads increased etc. Then the article moved on to consider the home-based business boom, and why it was exploding so rapidly.

The conclusion Schor came to regarding the home-based business phenomena, was, that people see it as a way of taking back control over their personal destiny. But more importantly, as a way of using their talents, skills, expertise, creativity, knowledge and experience. All of these things are restricted in the corporate world, for the most part, because the workplace creates the structure for the employees.

Schor wrapped up by stating, that more and more people will take the plunge regarding their financial future – a move which is growing on a daily basis!

So, are you prepared to join them? Are you willing to build your future?
